The way the whole Danni App thing got started was several years ago my mom was looking for a particular type of vintage yarn. It was a baby variegated pastel rainbow colored variety and it was no where to be found! Mom and I were talking through Skype as I lived a state away. I asked her if she had looked on eBay and she said she hadn't thought about that. We looked and were amazed at the prices being realized for this vintage discontinued yarn. That is when it clicked that she had a treasure trove of yarn in her craft room and could make a nice little side income. I suggested this to her and her initial reaction was oh no way! I believe the exact quote was "Oh I can't do that, I'm not techy and could never figure out this computer stuff." I took this as a challenge of course and I convinced her to let me try and teach her through the power of Skype.
Through the next several weeks we had almost daily sessions on Skype where I showed her the ropes on selling her yarn on eBay. I'm going to let her tell that story in her own words in the next installment of the story. I will tell you the outcome was a mom who not only managed to learn to sell on eBay, she became a Top Rated Power Seller in less than a year!
Once I realized I had the ability to teach others how to do this work at home business that could give people freedom, I wanted to find a way to reach those who needed the help. I had been on a podcast one night and the host asked the co-host what app he used while he was out sourcing for eBay items, his answer was, "I use the Danni App". That is how the name was born. What he meant was when in doubt about something for resale, he would call or text me,
I love that eBay has given people a way to supplement their income, or even grow a whole business with virtually no investment. It's a business that can be bootstrapped and is as easy as just making the decision. What I tell most people is to start around your home and garage and find the things you can part with. Create your accounts and start listing. Now adays there are some restrictions and hoops to jump through but they are fairly easy to get by and within a few months you can be significantly on your way to a healthy profit level.
What I want everyone to know is this, it is not always easy, and for some it is harder than others. The important thing is to take baby steps and learn to crawl before you walk, then walk before you run. Set your goals and expectations at a realistic place so that you can have wins by accomplishing them!
If my computer illiterate, stubborn mother (sorry mom), can learn to sell on eBay, then you can too!
