I am a little behind in writing this recap for you, apologies!
It was a crazy couple of weeks! First with eBay Open going from Tuesday through Friday, then the ASD Tradeshow starting immediately after!
If you have been following me, then you will know I have been saying for some time that Devin Wenig is "our guy", meaning the champion of the eBay community spirit. He understands how powerful that force is and is doing amazing things in bringing it back.
eBay Open did not disappoint when it came to feeding and entertaining us. It was informational but mostly it was just the thing needed to add back some ooomph into a sagging morale that many sellers have been feeling for some time. There was plenty of opportunity to talk with key eBay executives including Devin Wenig, CEO and Hal Lawton, SVP North America eBay Marketplaces. Teams of customer support reps were there to answer questions, help troubleshoot issues and most of all listen!
There were general sessions where we all gathered in a great ballroom with huge screens so you didn't miss a thing, and the leaders from eBay came out to talk to use about the future and what we can expect from eBay in the near and not so near future. Data and technology are a focus, and bringing us the information we need to run our businesses more efficiently and profitably.
The biggest message was that eBay is listening. They understand the importance in talking to and getting feedback from the very sellers who keep the products flowing on the site. There are more ways than ever to communicate with the multi-billion dollar corporation. They have a social media team to monitor your comments and questions on the eBay for Business Facebook page. This is a positive focused place for buyers and sellers to come together and get and give information.
Seller Hub is the newest addition to the eBay tools and one I absolutely love! It is still a work in progress and getting better by the day. If you haven't converted over to it yet I highly encourage you to do so! Up in the top right hand corner is a place to leave comments good and bad. Tell eBay what you love, what you don't love and what you would like to see added, they are listening!
While the best thing was to actually attend in person, they did something amazing for sellers who could not be in Vegas. Most of the content sessions were recorded! You can access the recordings HERE is that cool or what?
It was announced that this would be an annual event... location to be determined. I would like to encourage you to start saving up now so you don't miss it. While things were recorded, there is nothing like being there live and in person. It's a big family reunion! The eBay family is alive and well and it is always great to catch up, share stories and of course go to the closing night party!
This year eBay brought in the band, The Fray, and we all got prime seats! What a treat!
As we wind down summer, get kids back in school and enter another 4th quarter selling season, know that eBay wants you to be successful and is doing many great things to help you make that happen!
Who knows, maybe you can end up with a tattoo also 😉
